The inaugural African Real Estate and Housing Finance (AREHF) awards ceremony was held on Friday March 30 in Nairobi and brought together key players from the real estate sector.
The AREHF awards recognised and celebrated industry players who have put in profound efforts to boost the continent’s real estate and housing finance markets.
“The awards are an avenue to celebrate industry players who have made significant social, economic and developmental impact through their businesses,” Roland Igbinoba, Director Board of Trustees, AREHF Academy.
Housing Finance Corporation of Kenya emerged the best real estate lending institution while Hass Consult emerged the best real estate development company. Other winners from Kenya included Coca-Cola Plaza, Strathmore Business School, Pangoni Beach Resort and One Riverside Drive.
Coca-Cola plaza emerged the best innovative real estate development while Strathmore Business School was named the best green building development. Pangoni Beach Resort emerged the best architectural design while AMS Properties’ One Riverside Drive won the best residential real estate infrastructural development.
Other winners were Bridge City Shopping Centre in South Africa, Ghana’s Blue Rose Ltd., Victoria Resident in Nigeria and HFC Bank Ghana.
Bridge City Shopping Centre emerged the best real estate public private partnership while Blue Rose Ltd., was named the best low income/affordable residential developer. Victoria Resident emerged the best middle/low income residential development while HFC Bank was named the best mortgage provider.
The awards, which were co-sponsored by Shelter Afrique, Standard Group, Pison Housing among other firms, are an initiative of AREHF Academy – a leading resource centre for real estate development in Africa.
